Ethiopian Airlines wins ‘African Airline of the Year’ 2013

Ethiopian Airlines has won the prestigious title of “African Airline of the Year” for 2013, following the 45th annual general meeting of the African Airlines Association, held between the 25 and 26 of November, in Mombasa. Kenya. Mason’s Travel, the Ethiopian Airline’s ground

services agent for its Seychelles’ operations, has issued a message of congratulations to the airline for its outstanding achievement.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam, received the award from Mr. Tony Tyler, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of IATA in the presence of over 370 airline executives from 55 African countries, aircraft manufacturers, service providers and other aviation stakeholders. Ethiopian Airlines was recognized by the African Airlines Association for its global standard of service, fast expanding network and continuous profitability.

This latest accolade comes on the heels of two other awards Ethiopian Airlines has received during the year. The airline also received the Skytrax award for “Best Airline Staff Service in Africa” and the Passengers Choice Award for “Best Airline in Africa.”

Speaking on behalf of Mason’s Travel, Nicole St. Ange, the group’s Branding and Communication Manager, congratulated the airline on its achievement and expressed the company’s gratitude for being associated with Ethiopian Airlines in Seychelles.

“We congratulate Ethiopian Airlines for this outstanding accomplishment, which stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to providing exceptional service and becoming the undisputed leader in African aviation,” she said.

“Mason’s Travel is proud to be associated with such an esteemed airline, and we look forward to our continued partnership with the ‘Best Airline in Africa’ through our role as ground services agent for their operations in Seychelles,” she concluded.

Speaking today, Bethlehem KinfeGebriel, Ethiopian Airlines’ Area Manager for Seychelles, stated that the award was a reflection to the company’s dedication to provide exceptional service to its travellers.

“In addition to the other awards that the airline has received, such as “Best Customer Service Airline in Africa,” this prestigious award shows the dedication of Ethiopian Airlines to its customers,” she said.

“We thank our customers for voting for us and their continued support,” she added.

Ethiopian Airlines flies from Seychelles to Addis Ababa twice a week (every Sunday and Friday), with direct connecting flights to 67 destinations worldwide. The airline has introduced additional flights for December for the convenience of Seychelles’ travellers. These are on Monday the 16th, Wednesday the 18th, Wednesday the 25th and Monday the 30th of December.
