Airline Updates: Ethiopian Airlines

Ethiopian Airlines Returns to Seychelles

Ethiopian Airlines has once again resumed its flight schedule to Seychelles, after having withdrawn from the island destination in March this year.

The return of  "Africa's Airline of the year" was welcomed by both the Seychelles Minister of Tourism and Culture Alain St. Ange and the Seychelles Tourism Board's CEO Sherin Naiken, who attended the arrival of the first inbound flight, which landed on Monday.

Speaking at the occasion, Minister. St. Ange welcomed the return of the airline and stated that it "shows that Seychelles is a serious tourism destination and one able to attract airlines from the Community of Nations."

He added that for the tourism industry, "every airline that lands at the Seychelles International Airport is a vital step for the Seychelles main pillar of its economy."

Minister St.Ange also commended the airline for opening new possibilities for markets such as China, Europe, and the USA, emphasizing that Ethiopian Airlines has a good link to France, connecting with its Seychelles flight, and it is believed that this will help Seychelles to regain its position in the French market.

Mason's Travel has been appointed the ground handling agent for Ethiopian Airlines in Seychelles, and the airline will operate three flights per week.
