Industry News: Charter Flights to Seychelles

Mason's Travel and Spirit World Production Bring Israeli Tourists Aboard Charter Flight to Seychelles

A private Israeli charter Boeing 747 landed at the Seychelles International Airport with 382 passengers on board last Saturday. Every year, Spirit World Production in partnership with Mason’s Travel, organises two direct charter flights from Israel to Seychelles. The next charter flight is scheduled for October.

Mason’s Travel welcomed a private Israeli charter Boeing 747 as it landed at the Seychelles International Airport with 382 passengers on board, last Saturday. The arrival of Israeli tourists in Seychelles is significant in that it has given a noted boost to the tourism industry. The visitors will be leaving the country next week on the same charter flight. This trip is the result of a collaboration between local Destination Management Company Mason’s Travel and Spirit World Production, an Israeli tour operator that has been working with Mason’s Travel for more than 15 years.

Every year, Spirit World Production organises two direct charter flights from Israel to Seychelles. This year’s first contingent of Israeli tourists is the biggest one ever, with 382 passengers. Last year, as has been the case every year for the past 15 years, two charter flights brought Israeli tourists to Seychelles in April (280 tourists) and October (245 tourists). In fact, Nicole St Ange, Mason’s group branding and communications manager says there are about 1000 Israeli tourists who visit Seychelles every year since not all of them come with the direct charter flights.

Nicole St. Ange explained that “the last two decades have shown that the popular trend for Israelis is to jet-set around the world and in turn Spirit World has created a name by delivering the best tailor-made experiences for their clients, showing the world like not many others can do. Together, over the years, we have brought some 10,000 Israeli visitors to the islands”.

She went on to say that Mason’s Travel is proud of this increase in turnout as it highlights a growing demand for Seychelles year after year from the Israeli market. “The fact is that Spirit World continually includes Seychelles in their portfolio of destinations, but most importantly the group size is increasing, which is an achievement for the destination,” added Mrs. St.Ange.

As the local tour operator, Mason’s Travel has organised the Israeli visitors’ accommodation, transfers and the excursions. “The Israeli tourists will spend almost a week in Seychelles. Since these are top end clients, they will want to make the most of their stay by visiting as many places as they can, making a great contribution to our economy. We have a large number of children as most of the schools are closed for vacation in Israel and this is when they travel,” the group branding and communication manager added.

The Israeli visitors will be spending their vacation in various hotels around the islands such as Constance Ephelia, Kempinski Resort, the Hilton chain of hotels, Maia Resort, Four Seasons, Savoy, Berjaya Beau Vallon, Banyan Tree, La Reserve, Paradise Sun, Raffles Praslin, Denis Private Island, Dhevatara and Constance Lemuria.

The Israelis will be visiting local sites such as the Victoria market, the tea factory, art galleries and more. They also have an array of excursions from day trips, island hopping outings and helicopter packages for those seeking something more exclusive.
