Annual Events: Fet Afrik 2015

Seychelles gears up for annual Fet Afrik cultural festival: 22 - 25 May


FetAfrik, Seychelles' annual celebration of Creole and African culture, in honour of world 'Africa Day' and as a tribute to the country's strong African heritage and cultural influence, will this year take place between the 22nd and 25th of May at various locations across the main island of Mahé.

The annual event, first celebrated in 1999 is a multi-artistic festival, will this year also feature the Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015. The event has gained much popularity over the years, and has featured renowned regional artists and performers, including Nandipa Madikiza (celebrated fashion designer from South Africa) and Soley Leve ( music & dance group from Mauritius).  


Friday 22.05.2015

  • 10:00am: Debate on Robert George's Translation of "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe "Keksoz I Degrengole" ex Assembly Hall, National Cultural Centre. 
  • 5.30pm: Official Opening of FetAfrik 2015 & Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 at NSC Hall, Roche Caiman. 
  • 9:00pm onwards: African Disco at I.C.C.S Seafront Restaurant featuring DJ Madman & DJ Ezy D. 



Saturday 23.05.2015

  • 10:00am - 8:00pm: Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 at NSC Hall, Roche Caiman.  
  • 7:00pm Onwards: African Gala Soiree & Fashion Show at Le Meridien Fisherman's Cove Hotel - Bel Ombre. followed a performance by Jeff Maximum  & DJ Sabrina Terence 



Sunday 24.05.2015

  • 10am-8pm Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 at NSC Hall - Roche Caiman. 
  • 3:00pm Musical Entertainment at NCS Hall - Roche Caiman.



Monday 25th

  • 9:00am to 3:00pm: Symposium - Cultural Tourism in Africa at the ex Assembly Hall, National Cultural Centre - Victoria. 
  • 10:00am to 8:00pm Seychelles International Trade Expo 2015 at NSC Hall, Roche Caiman
