Mr. du Preez comes from a background of hotel management experience spanning over a period of 12 years with elevation to different managerial positions from Front Office Manager  at The Beverly Hills Hotel; then as Rooms Division Manager at Suncoast Hotel and Towers (Acting General Manager in the absence of the General Manager).

Cousine Island Marine Monitoring Update


Cousine island’s marine monitoring programme is an exciting new development within the island conservation plan, of which they recently carried out the first round of surveys earlier this year. The programme aims to monitor the reef ecosystem surrounding Cousine and contribute to the ongoing conservation management of the island. The primary period for monitoring is during the transition between the biannual monsoons (March-May and September-November), where the sea is most calm.

Please kindly note that La Digue Island Lodge would like to re-emphasize on the importance of receiving honeymooners staying at the establishment to provide them with their marriage certificate well in advance.

All visiting honeymooner's marriage certificates should be sent together with the reservation to allow the hotel to do the necessary preparations. In the event that the certificate is not yet ready to send through, any proof of marriage can be sent at the time of reservation.

Record-Breaking Seychelles Catch Puts Fishing World on Notice


The rich fishing grounds of Seychelles are known for a plentiful variety of big game, but the recent catch of a black marlin tipping the scales at 400kg proves that it’s a place to land the sport’s biggest prizes as well.

Raed Hassan, an experienced Angler from the United Arab Emirates, reeled in the record-breaking fish over a four-hour fight aboard A1 Fishing’s Alati.

SPTC Reaffirms Baggage Policy on All Seychelles' Public Buses


The Seychelles Public Transport Corporation is enforcing its regulations with regards  to luggage on board its public buses on Mahé Island and Praslin Island. 

According to regulation, "Luggage and over-sized bags are not allowed on any SPTC buses as our buses are not fitted with luggage compartments."

La Digue Island Lodge renovates “Beach House”


La Digue Island Lodge has completed an extensive renovation of its famous “Beach House” accommodation located right on the beach front of the property. The works were carried out over a two-month period and consisted of a complete overhaul of all the suites.

The nine suites complex boasts stunning views of the bay and Praslin Island in the distance. It is very popular with families as some of the rooms have adjoining bedrooms that cater for children.
