Hotel Updates: CaranaBeach Hotel

CaranaBeach Hosts Lunch for President’s Village Choir

Sometimes the ones who brighten up those around them need a little brightening up of their own.

That was the idea behind a lunch hosted by the CaranaBeach Hotel yesterday, for the 10 children and 7 adults that make up the Hope Choir from the President’s Village orphanage in Port Glaud.

When President’s Village staff member Carol Andriamaro approached the hotel about finding a way to reward the choir members for their dedication and hard work throughout the year, it was a matter of how rather than if, CaranaBeach PR, Branding and Communications Manager Nicole Saint Ange said.

“It takes a lot of courage and commitment to perform for others,” Saint Ange said. “We saw this as an opportunity to show appreciation and give encouragement for the choir to continue spreading enjoyment to others and themselves through song.”

The group was treated to a family-style spread of classic kids’ favourites, like battered fish with chips and peas, as well as a selection of tapas and a specially made cake in celebration of their visit, while enjoying the vistas from the hotel’s beachside location in North Mahé. The choir then decided to return their thanks by performing some of their favourite carols for the CaranaBeach team which was a very unexpected yet pleasant surprise to end the day.

Hotel supplier and caterer ISPC also sponsored gift bags for each child as a special treat. The staff of the President’s village conveyed their appreciation to the sponsors, noting that the children were keen to stay as long as possible and were eager to return, especially for the cakes.
