The global demand for sushi and sashimi-grade fish has created a billion-dollar industry around ways to quickly shuttle precious raw fish all around the world.

Luckily for the guests on Denis Island, and the chefs who cook for them, it all comes much easier. With Denis situated right on an ocean precipice that makes it one of the richest and most diverse fishing grounds in the world, freshly caught fish in the form of world-class sushi is becoming more and more of a fixture on the island.


Chef Robert has been working his skillful magic on tuna, red snapper and a number other fish species available off Denis for nearly 10 years. But apart from the weekly Asian nights in the restaurant, the increasing popularity of the island’s Japanese fare has prompted the hotel to offer an on-demand sushi and champagne sundowner.

Guests simply choose their preferred location on the island, and the Denis team prepares a tailor-made sushi experience.
