The Seychelles Tourism Board Hosts Annual South Africa Roadshow Targeting Three Main Cities

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) embarked South African travel agents and tour operators on a discovery of the Seychelles islands as it hosted its annual roadshow.

Travelling to three main cities - Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town - the roadshow attracted over 85 agents in each city. The events which were organized by the STB office in South Africa saw the participation of various trade partners from Seychelles.

As the world’s biggest travel review site, TripAdvisor uses its Certificate of Excellence to recognise hotels and service providers that consistently generate outstanding reviews from past guests. In order to earn the certificate, a property must earn a minimum average rating of 4.5, with a minimum number of reviews.

Dave Fostel, a Seychellois Chef de Partie at Paradise Sun hotel on Praslin, who according to his organisation shows great potential and promise, was given the opportunity to expand his culinary skills and knowledge during the course of 2017.

Paradise Sun sponsored an 8-month diploma course at the Christina Martin School of Culinary Arts in South Africa for Dave. His course ran from March until December 2017, and in this time he completed 11 modules to successfully graduate with a Diploma in Food Production and Culinary Arts, as well as a Certificate for Health and Safety.

Mason's Travel Visits Newly Opened Four Seasons Desroches

A selection of our team members from Marketing, Reservations and contracting were invited to visit the newly opened Four Seasons Desroches in late May. 

Our team members departed on a one day outing and greeted on the airstrip by an international team from all departments. The flight took 35 minutes from Mahé airport to reach the island whereby they were greeted with warm smiles before they proceeded to visit the new island resort. Team members were familiarised with the new product by visiting all room categories and the various Food & Beverage outlets.

One of Seychelles’ smallest islands has launched what might be the country’s largest private renewable energy project.

Denis Private Island has embarked on the first of a four-phase photovoltaic solar power system in collaboration with DHYBRID from Germany, initially reducing the island’s diesel consumption by 100 litres per day.

Another Group of Prospective Tour Guides Complete Basic Course in Tour Guiding

A group of 35 individuals from Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, venturing into the tour guiding business, have completed a three-day basic tour guiding course. They received their certificates from the hands of the Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine, Didier Dogley, in a ceremony held on Friday June 22, 2018.

The training provided to prospective tour guides is a collaboration between the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) and the Tourism Department.

After drawing inspiration for their latest resort and destination wedding wear collection from a visit to the Seychelles islands, Indian designers, Shivan and Narresh, were back recently to conduct a photo shoot of the new collection.

They were joined by a crew of Indian celebrities including make-up artist - Savleen Manchanda, stylist - Mohit Rai, photographer - Taras Taraporvala, as well as videographers - Elvis and Sonal D’Silva.

Seychelles once again showcased at South Korea's largest travel show, HanaTour 2018

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) participated in the 12th edition of the HanaTour International Travel Show (HITS). The event was held at the Kintex Exhibition centre in South Korea's Goyang city, from June 7 to 10, 2018. It was under the 'Seychelles – the Heaven you must visit before you die' banner that the STB team showcased the island destination to the South Korean travel trade and potential visitors.

Fair winds for Mason’s Travel at Seychelles Regatta

The 2018 Seychelles Regatta concluded on Sunday with Mason’s Travel not only contributing to the sponsorship and organisation of the event, but also to the winning team. 

The ISPC/Mouton Cadet/Mason’s Travel team, comprised of mostly Seychellois sailors including Alan Mason, Managing Director of Mason’s Travel  and skippered by Frenchman Franck-Yves Escoffier, emerged victorious in a competition that saw eight teams zig and zag their way through a multitude of islands in the Seychelles archipelago.

Air Seychelles Announces the Order of A320neo Airbus Aircraft

Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has today announced its first order of the new generation A320neo (new engine option) aircraft as part of the plan to refresh its fleet and increase efficiency on its regional network.

The order was signed by Air Seychelles Chief Executive Officer, Remco Althuis and the Airbus Vice President Sales Sub-Sahara Africa and Indian Ocean, Hadi Akoum during a ceremony held at the Savoy Resort and Spa in Beau Vallon.

Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles has announced that it will increase the frequency of its services between Seychelles and Johannesburg to six flights per week starting from Tuesday, 3 July, 2018.

The new service has been introduced to meet the strong travel demand on the Johannesburg route, with increasing number of guests visiting the Seychelles archipelago.

Air Seychelles Seals Partnership with Air Botswana

Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles and Air Botswana, the national airline of Botswana have signed a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) to provide travellers with seamless access and transfers opportunities onto each other’s respective route networks, effective 1 May 2018.

As part of the agreement, guests travelling with Air Seychelles will now be able to book and purchase tickets from Seychelles to Johannesburg and onwards to the exciting cities of Gaborone, Francistown and Maun.

The return of Air France to Seychelles, through its new sister airline 'Joon' was marked by an inaugural ceremony on Tuesday.

Formerly the minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, he was assigned the new portfolio in a Cabinet reshuffle announced by President Danny Faure on April 26.
