Fair winds for Mason’s Travel at Seychelles Regatta


The 2018 Seychelles Regatta concluded on Sunday with Mason’s Travel not only contributing to the sponsorship and organisation of the event, but also to the winning team. 

The ISPC/Mouton Cadet/Mason’s Travel team, comprised of mostly Seychellois sailors including Alan Mason, Managing Director of Mason’s Travel  and skippered by Frenchman Franck-Yves Escoffier, emerged victorious in a competition that saw eight teams zig and zag their way through a multitude of islands in the Seychelles archipelago.

Seychelles Showcased in Poland, Czech Republic, Romania & Hungary as STB Hosts the 2018 Eastern Europe Roadshow


The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) conducted the fifth edition of its Eastern Europe roadshow across Poland, Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary, from May 28 to 31, 2018. Adopting a new format this year, STB hosted a combination of workshops and presentations in the capital cities of Warsaw, Prague, Bucharest and Budapest.

His photo obtained the most likes in the final voting on the social media platform.

Seychelles Tourism Board Unveils New Destination Website


The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) on Tuesday unveiled its new destination website. The new ‘face’ of the destination - www.seychelles.travel – replaces the one that has been online for the past four years.

It was the Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Didier Dogley, accompanied by the STB Chief Executive, Sherin Francis, who unveiled the new platform.

Air Seychelles Announces the Order of A320neo Airbus Aircraft


Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has today announced its first order of the new generation A320neo (new engine option) aircraft as part of the plan to refresh its fleet and increase efficiency on its regional network.

The order was signed by Air Seychelles Chief Executive Officer, Remco Althuis and the Airbus Vice President Sales Sub-Sahara Africa and Indian Ocean, Hadi Akoum during a ceremony held at the Savoy Resort and Spa in Beau Vallon.

Air Seychelles Increases Johannesburg Flights to Six Per Week


Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles has announced that it will increase the frequency of its services between Seychelles and Johannesburg to six flights per week starting from Tuesday, 3 July, 2018.

The new service has been introduced to meet the strong travel demand on the Johannesburg route, with increasing number of guests visiting the Seychelles archipelago.

Air Seychelles Seals Partnership with Air Botswana


Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles and Air Botswana, the national airline of Botswana have signed a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) to provide travellers with seamless access and transfers opportunities onto each other’s respective route networks, effective 1 May 2018.

As part of the agreement, guests travelling with Air Seychelles will now be able to book and purchase tickets from Seychelles to Johannesburg and onwards to the exciting cities of Gaborone, Francistown and Maun.

An Official Welcome to Mark Air France's Return to Seychelles


The return of Air France to Seychelles, through its new sister airline 'Joon' was marked by an inaugural ceremony on Tuesday.

The airline's Airbus A340, flown by Captain Sophie Bordmann, was greeted by a water canon salute as it touched down at the international airport, shortly after 7am.

New Tourism Minister Envisions Seychelles as a Model for Sustainable Tourism to the World


The new Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Didier Dogley, moved into his new office at Botanical House on Friday May 4, 2018.

Formerly the minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, he was assigned the new portfolio in a Cabinet reshuffle announced by President Danny Faure on April 26.

A1 Fishing has announced that through their conservation efforts that they have tagged and released 149 billfish from the 1st Dec 2017 to 30th April 2018. 


"These are fantastic figures and a big thank you/ shout out goes to the A1 crew: Perry Rosalie, Brandon Grant, Mangi Katana, Tabu Safari and Jean-Luc Chang-Time," says A1 Fishing's Manager Mike Mason.

Emirates Renews its Marketing Agreement with the Seychelles Tourism Board


Emirates Airline has extended its global marketing agreement with the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), renewing its support to the island destination.

Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations for Africa, Orhan Abbas, and STB’s Chief Executive, Sherin Francis, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday April 23, 2018.

Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label Renewal for Three Hotels


The Tourism Department has renewed the Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label (SSTL) certification of three hotels – Cote d'Or Footprints and Constance Lemuria on Praslin and the Four Season Resort Seychelles at Baie Lazare.

The Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Maurice Loustau-Lalanne presented the SSTL certificates to the representatives of the three hotels on Thursday.

Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has moved its Airport Sales Office to its Mahe Sales Office in Victoria effective today, 17 April 2018.

The move to the Mahe Sales Office located in the Independence House will enable the airline to enhance operational efficiencies and improve the customer service.

Executive Chef Hamzeh Abu El-Foul, together with three other members of his kitchen team, were invited by the Academy to help second-year Food Production students create a decadent three-course lunch, which was served to STA staff, members of the press and other invited guests.

Air Seychelles Expands Codeshare Network to Minsk


Air Seychelles and Etihad Airways have expanded their codeshare agreement to cover flights to Minsk, the capital of Belarus, effective from 29 April 2018.

The new codeshare deal will see, Air Seychelles place its “HM” code on three weekly flights between Minsk and Abu Dhabi to provide travelers easy one-stop connections to and from Seychelles.

Air Seychelles and Sri Lankan Airlines Sign Agreement for Greater Network Access


Air Seychelles and SriLankan Airlines have signed a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) to provide travellers with greater access and seamless transfers onto each other’s respective route networks, effective 1 April 2018.

As part of the partnership, guests travelling with Air Seychelles will be able to purchase through tickets with SriLankan Airways from Seychelles to Colombo, and onwards to Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Singapore and Tokyo.

Mason’s Travel Staff Shine at Ocean Race to Mark 45th Anniversary of Seychelles’ First Marine Park



Staff from Mason’s Travel had an excellent showing at the annual kayak race to commemorate the Ste Anne Marine Park, now celebrating its 45th year of existence. About 35 participants took part in the race, ten of which were from Mason’s Travel. Participants started from Ste Anne Island, winding past the islands of Moyenne and Round before returning to the finish line.

The first British Airways (BA) flight in 14 years landed at the Seychelles International airport on Sunday March 25, 2018.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner touched down at around 6.10am with 214 passengers onboard.

Seychelles' Tourism Minister and Tourism Board CEO Hold Talks with Airline Partners at ITB Berlin 2018


The Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Maurice Loustau-Lalanne and the Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Francis, held discussions with airline partners on the sidelines of the 2018 ITB fair, held from March 7 to 11, in Berlin, Germany.

They met with officials from Qatar Airways, Edelweiss Air and Turkish Airlines.
