Mason's Travel Sponsors Gala Charity Event in Sweden

All the stars came out at Gala evening for Baltic salmon

A great evening was had by all when both royalty and celebrities turned out for the inaugural gala dinner of the Baltic Salmon Fund. More than three million Swedish crowns were collected at the charity gala "An Evening for Salmon" which included royal participation by H.M. Carl XVI Gustaf and H.R.H. Princess Christina among the guests of honor.

The evening was organized by The Baltic salmon fund, to raise money and awareness for the plight of wild Baltic salmon and to reach out with the message that we must act in fisheries issues.

All money collected will go to fisheries management incentives by the Baltic Salmon Fund, such as providing financial compensation to fishermen and owners of fishing rights to stop fishing at river estuaries in areas with threatened salmon populations.

"We must give salmon free passage up into rivers in order to reproduce," says Thomas Johansson, Chairman of the Baltic salmon Fund.

Money was collected on the evening by means of an auction, where guests outbid each other to net some of the coveted items on offer, including a luxurious trip to Seychelles, sponsored by Mason's Travel, in conjunction with the Seychelles Tourism Board and Tour Pacific.

Mason's Travel's contribution to this charity event is in line with the companies ethos on conservation, as well as it plans to expand further into European markets. Mason’s Travel, affiliated with its sister companies, namely Denis Private Island and the upcoming CaranaBeach Hotel offered the highest bidder a 10 day stay in Seychelles. The total package was inclusive of flight tickets, 3 nights at the upcoming CaranaBeach hotel followed by 7 nights on Denis Island. Masons Travel will also be handling all their transfers and handling throughout their stay. Undoubtedly this was the most sought after item on the auction list and after competitive bidding, the prize was sold off at Eur 11,000.

"Seychelles is one of the best island destinations in the world, with pristine natural treasures unparalleled in other destinations," says the companies Group Branding and Communications Manager, Nicole St. Ange, "we would like to extend a warm welcome to travellers from Sweden and let them know that they will find paradise in Seychelles."
