Ethiopian Received Airline of the Year Award for the Fourth Year in a Row from AFRAA

Ethiopian Airlines, the largest airline in Africa, is pleased to announce that it has been named, for the fourth year in a row, as the Airline of the Year by the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) at its 47th Annual General Assembly, held between 8 and 12 November 2015, in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.

Ethiopian is awarded Airline of the Year for its outstanding financial performance in 2014 and its ever expanding intra-Africa network and sound growth plan, reiterating its consistent profitability, and sound strategy, which has enabled Ethiopian to enhance partnerships with fellow African airlines showcasing ASKY and Malawian Airline as successful multiple hub operators for the continent.

Ethiopian Group CEO Tewolde GebreMariam remarked, “First and foremost I would like to thank AFRAA, our continental Association, for the continued recognition of our superior performance. I would also like to thank the more than 9,000 strong employees who have worked 24/7 around the globe to make the airline a distinguished shining star on the skies.”

He added, “Today Africa is on the rise, inhabiting the newly emerging fastest-growing economies and youngest population which could serve as a spring board to an enhanced future of the region.”

Ethiopian Airlines flies between Mahé Island, Seychelles and Addis Ababa four times a week.
