Hotel Updates: Hilton Northolme Resort & Spa

Hilton Northolme Expands Sustainable Development Activities

Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa has announced the expansion of its sustainable development program, with a particular focus on reducing in-resort waste while enacting technologies to reduce environmental impact.

The first of these measures involves the repurposing of linens, so that those no longer suitable for guest use are recycled, either for staff accommodation or for cleaning; surplus items are donated to the local Red Cross.

Similarly, any food waste will be distributed to local farmers as feed, while rainwater will be collected and used for gardening purposes.Northolme has set up its own desalination and waste management systems, converting treated water into that which can be used by the kitchen and garden, respectively.

Energy saving sensors have also been installed in selected staff areas to ensure lights and air-conditioning units only operate when required. Additionally, solar panels have been fitted to the roofs of deluxe rooms, with each of the seven panels fully powering two villas.

In making these changes, Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa reaffirms its dedication to providing guests with truly unforgettable experiences, while reducing its environmental impact and conserving the ecological beauty of the Seychelles.
