The Seychelles Tourism Board stages successful dedicated roadshow in the Nordics

The Seychelles Tourism Board and its partners led by Marketing Manager Ms Karen Confait took to the road last week for the 3rd edition of the Seychelles Dedicated Nordic Roadshow.

The 5 city roadshow took the Seychelles destination and its array of products through various cities in the Nordics from 26th to 30th September and was one of the first activities organized in the market to kick off the new season.

This event is a highlight on the Nordic calendar for both local partners and travel trade alike and this year the roadshow stopped in the main capitals Copenhagen, Oslo, Helsinki, Stockholm and ending in Sweden’s second largest city Gothenburg, which is a new addition this year.

These cities are the key areas for the destination where most of our visitors are coming from, it is therefore very important that we continue to show our presence, keep penetrating these regions and provide maximum support for the tour operators and agents so that they are in a better position to recommend and sell the destination further.

Each evening an elegant dinner presentation was organised for the travel trade where they had the chance to learn about the various products and services from the local partners present.

Through the various presentations they were reminded of the unique selling points of the Seychelles as we took them on a journey through the different islands mainly to inspire and to reiterate the variety and diversity of what Seychelles has to offer.

This year in attendance was a delegation of participants comprising of Emirates Airlines: Carmen Javier, Morten Balk, Maritha Nerstad, hotel partners: Coco de Mer Hotel & Black Parrot Suites: Ash Behari, Hilton Hotels: Maria Eremina, Hotel L’Archipel: Eddie D’Offay, Kempinski Seychelles Resort: Simone Berti, Savoy Resort & Spa: Kamila Rakhmangulova and DMC Masons Travel: Amy Michel.

The Nordics is a growing market for Seychelles with great potential mainly due to its high purchasing power and high standards of living. Over the last few years we have seen a steady increase in arrivals from this region with Sweden being the largest out of all 4 markets.

As these events have proved to be such a success, The Seychelles Tourism Board and its partners will continue to undertake other such events in the future as well as the various activities planned on the market for the rest of year. The next rendez-vous set for The Seychelles Nordic Roadshow is next year in September.
