Air Seychelles Celebrates New Passenger Record of 550,000

Air Seychelles has today flown its 550,000th guest, marking a new passenger milestone for the Seychelles flag carrier and surpassing its 2015 total passenger number of 522,873. 

The airline’s total passenger figure for 2016 is set to rise even further as the end-of-year travel peak comes to a close, signalling another year of strong operational growth for Air Seychelles.

Please be advised that Colibri Guesthouse will be closed during the period 1 May - 31 July 2017 for extensive renovations. In the best interest of their guests, management has taken the decision to close the entire establishment to avoid any disruption. When complete, these renovations will allow Colibri Guesthouse to provide an improved accommodation experience to their guests.

Soroptomists cash in on CaranaBeach Cocktail for Breast Cancer Awareness

The CaranaBeach Hotel has donated over R3,000 to the Soroptimist International Club of Victoria, following a creative campaign launched to support the fight against breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, the hotel and its staff promoted a newly created “Pink Lady” cocktail to raise funds for the Soroptomists, which regularly organises activities to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Fishing in Seychelles

Billfish Tagging Efforts Boost Seychelles Fishermen, Catch Alike

A record number of billfish – the prized catches of big game fishermen – were tagged and released in Seychelles’ waters during 2016.

That was the big takeaway from the close of the Seychelles Sports Fishing Club (SSFC)/Mason’s Travel Conservation League, as it was revealed that the over 520 billfish tagged and released during the year amounted to more than double of what was recorded in 2015.

Airline Updates: Air Seychelles

Air Seychelles Expands Codeshare with Alitalia to South Africa & Madagascar

Air Seychelles has expanded its codeshare partnership with Alitalia to offer travellers convenient air connections to Madagascar and South Africa.

Under the agreement, Alitalia will place its AZ flight code on Air Seychelles’ four-times-aweek services to the Malagasy capital of Antananarivo and five flights to Johannesburg, South Africa’s biggest city. Subject to government approvals, the Italian flag carrier will also codeshare on Air Seychelles’ upcoming twice-weekly flights to Durban, set to commence on 30 March 2017.

The hotel will take the opportunity to give their staff annual leave over this period.

Chalets d’ Anse Forbans, on Mahé Island, Seychelles, has announced that they will no longer accept arrivals of guests on Sundays, with immediate effective and until further notice.

This new policy does not affect departures of clients on these days, and all current confirmed bookings with arrivals on Sundays will be honoured.
