Perseverance pays off for Bertrand Vidot 

Bertrand Vidot always dreamed about playing football, but to do that he’d first need to be able to walk under his own power.

Thanks to the dedication of his mother, a local fundraiser, and several partners who have been able to help him with his condition, he’s now getting closer to that dream.

Bertrand, who was born with a club foot and up until recently required crutches to move under his own power, walked unassisted into the Mason’s Travel offices yesterday to visit the staff.

Now 13 years old, Bertrand has undergone two surgeries in Chennai, India.

The Seychelles Regatta -- a sailing competition designed to take place in a relaxed atmosphere -- returns to the island nation’s shores in 2018.

This was announced by the Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Ambassador Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, during a press conference on Monday December 11, 2017.

Seychelles Named the Favourite Beach/Island Destination by Condé Nast Traveller Readers

Seychelles scooped the Favourite Beach/Island Destination accolade at the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice awards 2017. The award was presented to the Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Francis, and Manager of the Seychelles Tourism Board office in Dubai, Ahmed Fathallah. This was during a ceremony held at the Yas Viceroy Hotel in Abu Dhabi, in the evening of Wednesday December 13, 2017.The ceremony was attended by representatives of the travel & hospitality sector, media influencers, and other corporate industries.

Seychelles to get non-stop service from Switzerland with Edelweiss Air in 2018

Seychelles is set to get direct, non-stop air service with a third German-speaking country when Switzerland’s leisure airline, Edelweiss Air, begins flights to the island nation next year. Edelweiss Air will be offering regular non-stop service from its base, Zurich airport to Mahé, during the European winter season next year, beginning on September 22, 2018.

Air Seychelles has announced a new series of weekly charter flights between China and Seychelles starting in December, 2017.

In total, the national airline of Seychelles will operate 13 return flights from Chengdu, one of the biggest cities in western China with a population of over 14 million people.

Air Seychelles to Resume Flights to Madagascar in January 2018

Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has announced the resumption of flights to Antananarivo starting from 12 January 2018.

The recommencement of flights follows a travel directive from the Seychelles Ministry of Health which has allowed Air Seychelles to resume air services to Madagascar.

The management of Le Meridien Fisherman's Cove have announced an upcoming renovation project to restore the properties thatch roofing. 

The hotel will remain open during this period and will continue to offer all of its current services. The re-thatching works will be carried out in two main phases to limit the inconvenience to guests. Furthermore, in both phases, work will be conducted in sections so as to maintain normal operations.

The New Mauritius Hotels Ltd, which owns 100 percent of the shares of Ste Anne Resort Ltd, has signed an agreement with the French Group, Club Med, for the redevelopment and subsequent rental of Beachcomber Seychelles Sainte Anne Resort & Spa.The agreement was signed on Friday November 10, 2017.

Le Domaine de La Reserve, on Praslin Island Seychelles, has recently undertaken a project to renovate their beach bar. As the main structure has already been replaced, all that is left to do is the painting, which will be carried out until 20 December 2017, after which the beach bar will once again be welcoming guests. 

The work, which will be carried out at the end of the beach between 10h - 17h daily should not affect the guest's experience whilst staying at the hotel.

The Hawksbills return to Cousine for another nesting season

It is that time of year again when female Hawksbill sea turtles visit Cousine’s stretch of beach to lay their eggs. 

Despite a slow start to the season, we have now seen nine successful nests laid, and many more nesting attempts, keeping our Conservation team busy with beach patrols, recording biometrics and tag numbers, and relocating any nests at risk of being washed away by the sea.

Seychelles was represented by a strong delegation at this year's World Travel Market (WTM) in London. The World Travel Market is one of the leading global event for the travel and tourism industry. The 2017 edition was held from November 6 to 8.

The country's Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Ambassador Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, and High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Derick Ally, were present at the Seychelles' stand on the opening day.

The national carrier of Austria - Austrian Airlines - landed in Seychelles for the first time on Wednesday October 26, 2017.
The inaugural flight with 214 passengers onboard was greeted by a traditional water canon salute after touching down at the Seychelles’ International airport, a few minutes before 9.00am.

Seychelles Tourism Board adopts new format for roadshow across three Indian cities supplying the most visitors to the islands

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) office in India organised a three-city roadshow in Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai from September 18 to 22, 2017.
Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai send some of the highest numbers of visitors to Seychelles each year. The three cities are also home to travel trade partners that facilitate travel for most holidaymakers from the northern and western parts of India.

More trade partners join the 2017 GCC roadshow further positioning Seychelles in the Middle East

Further improving knowledge of the Seychelles’ products in the Middle East region, allowing the trade to strengthen relations with existing partners, as well as discover new products and partners -- such was the outcome of the 2017 Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) roadshow, organised by the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB).

Spearheaded by the STB Dubai office, the roadshow held from October 8 to 11, targeted the United Arab Emirates’ cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as two other Gulf countries -- Bahrain and Kuwait.

Please be reminded of the early check-in and checkout policies at The H Resort, Beau Vallon Beach. The check-in time is 15.00 and check-out 11.00.

The hotel will always try to give assigned rooms before 15.00 but this is not always possible. Should clients require the room earlier or later than the times above then they may need to make bookings for the night in advance or an additional night upon departure.
