Photography Competition

Capture your Creole cooking! The Seychelles Tourism Board launches Facebook photography competition

‘Best of Creole Cuisine’ is the theme of the latest Facebook photography competition launched by the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB).

Open only to citizens of Seychelles, the competition does not have any age limit. Participants are being encouraged to submit photos that depict the creativity and uniqueness of the Seychelles’ mouth-watering Creole cuisine.

STB’s Director of Digital Marketing, Mr. Vahid Jacob said the competition is aimed at boosting the organisation’s image library to support the promotion of one of the destination’s unique factor – its Creole food.

“We have decided to go with the theme ‘Best of Creole Cuisine’ with the hope getting a diverse selection of Seychelles cuisine photos from participants,” said Mr Jacob.

Each participant will be allowed to submit a maximum of 2 high-resolution photos, which must be accompanied by a caption and description, including the place where it was taken and the full name of the participant. Photos submitted must not have been entered into any other prior competitions, both in Seychelles and internationally.

To enter the competition, participants have to send an email to and request a registration pack.

Participants also have to ‘like’ STB’s Facebook page before submitting their entry, as part of STB’s strategy to increase its fan base on Social Media. All photos have to be inboxed to the STB’s Facebook page or can be dropped off at the STB headquarters.

“An internal panel will make the selection of weekly photos. Chosen submissions will be placed in a Facebook album every week on the Seychelles Tourism Board Facebook page on Thursdays at 2:00pm,” said Mr Jacob.

Facebook fans will be given 24 hours to vote for their favourite snapshots every week and photos with the highest number of likes will emerge as the weekly winners.

Creole food enthusiasts will have until August 10, 2017 to submit their entries, after which the weekly winners will go into an album where Facebook fans will vote to determine the 3 overall winners of the competition. The final 24 hours of voting will start on Thursday August 17, and the winners will be announced on Friday August 18.

The participant whose photo receives the most likes in the final voting will win 2 return tickets to Paris onboard Air Seychelles. The second and third prize is 2 nights on half-board basis for two persons at Le Meridien Fishermen’s Cove and Savoy Seychelles Resort and Spa, respectively.

The Facebook photography competition is an annual contest organized by the Seychelles Tourism Board with a different theme chosen each year.

All photos submitted to the Facebook photography competition becomes the property of the Seychelles Tourism Board and can be used for our various marketing campaigns around the world.
